Technology can be used as a tool of coercive control. Because it is often invisible, it can leave someone feeling watched without knowing how.

Possible signs

  • A partner knows where you have been without being told
  • Demands for passwords or regular checks of your phone
  • Unknown apps, shared location or linked accounts
  • Monitoring through children’s devices or shared cloud accounts
