Group Therapy

Virtual Group Psychotherapy

When You’ve Been Carrying Too Much Alone —
This Is Where You Can Pause

This group is designed for moments when everything feels heavy, confusing, or emotionally draining — and holding it alone no longer feels sustainable.

It offers a calm, structured, trauma-informed group psychotherapy space where support, clarity, and emotional steadiness can be developed in the context of difficult, high-conflict, or narcissistic relationship patterns.

Why Group Psychotherapy Often Helps When Individual Therapy Isn’t Enough

Many individuals arrive here already engaged in individual therapy — insightful, self-aware, and still feeling stuck.

For many people, healing from relational trauma feels more possible when it is supported within safe relationships.

Group psychotherapy can offer additional forms of support, including:

Being understood alongside others can reduce isolation and support steadier emotional regulation over time, within a safe and professionally facilitated setting.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is this group?

A 90-minute group psychotherapy session led by a Registered Psychotherapist. It offers clinical therapeutic support for emotional distress related to high-conflict divorce. This is psychotherapy, not a class, workshop, or coaching program.

Is this therapy or a workshop?

This is psychotherapy. It is not legal advice, coaching, consulting, crisis intervention, or individual therapy. The therapist facilitates a structured clinical group process within professional and ethical standards.

What can I expect during the session?

A clinician-led, structured group with emotional support, therapeutic discussion, and psychoeducation to support stabilization. Clear boundaries are maintained. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with.

Do I have to talk or share personal details?

Participation is encouraged but never forced. You may speak as much or as little as you choose, listen without sharing, or step back if content feels overwhelming, while following group guidelines.

How is confidentiality handled in a group?

The therapist is legally bound to confidentiality. In a group setting, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed by others. Participants agree not to share identifying details. Confidentiality may be broken if required by law.

Is the session recorded?

No. Sessions are not recorded. Participants may not record, photograph, or screenshot the session. The therapist may use secure tools for clinical notes only. No recordings are kept.

Is this group right for me?

This group may be suitable if you are experiencing emotional distress related to high-conflict divorce, can participate respectfully, are not in acute crisis, and feel comfortable hearing others’ experiences.

Who is this group not a good fit for?

This group may not be appropriate if you are in crisis, need emergency support, seek legal or custody advice, require intensive individual therapy, or cannot respect group boundaries or confidentiality.

How do I register?

Register through Eventbrite. After registering, intake and consent forms will be sent via JaneApp. Participation is confirmed only after forms are completed and reviewed. Registration alone does not guarantee placement.

What if I'm unsure this group is right for me?

Review the intake questions carefully and answer honestly. If the group is not a clinical fit, you will be contacted with next steps or appropriate referrals. You can always email info@narcclinic.ca for a free consultation to see if you'd be a good fit.

What is the cost and will I get a receipt?

Fees are listed at registration and payment is required in advance. Receipts are issued as “Group Psychotherapy” for insurance purposes. Clients are responsible for confirming coverage with their insurer.

What happens if I miss a session?

Missed sessions are generally non-refundable. Late arrival may limit participation. Please review the financial and attendance policy provided during intake.

What if I have concerns or complaints?

Concerns should be discussed directly with the therapist when possible. The therapist is regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Complaints information is available at www.crpo.ca

What are the expectations for participants?

Participants must respect confidentiality, attend from a private space, follow group guidelines, and engage respectfully. Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from the group.
